THE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF COMPANIES AS FAR AS GENDER IS CONCERNED PROJECT 

In 2013 the Acea Energia Group participated in the Social responsibility of companies as far as gender is concerned project, promoted by Rome’s Chamber of Commerce, which initiated from a sample of four Roman companies to begin the testing of an indicators system for the promotion of social responsibility as far as gender is concerned, also in view of a possible future classification of companies to reward. The system aims at observing the added-value to competitiveness that gender differences means as far as needs, competences and abilities are concerned.

More in detail, a delegation of employees from the company (25 women and 10 men) was interviewed both individually and in focus groups to assess its knowledge of the company’s gender policies. Generally speaking, the analysis of results shows that men and women are experiencing a slow but progressive cultural shift towards the enhancement of the role of women in the workplace.
